In high or low temperature environments, BOPP synthetic label paper may experience the following issues:
1、 Problems in high temperature environments
Fading:
BOPP synthetic label paper may experience fading under high temperature conditions. This is mainly because BOPP synthetic paper is a processed paper, and its manufacturing principle is to apply a layer of "thermal sensitive coating" (thermal color changing layer) on the base paper. This thermal sensitive coating contains a latent dye and a color developer. When heated, the latent dye reacts chemically with the color developer to change the color. However, this chemical reaction is sensitive to temperature, and high temperatures may accelerate the reaction process, leading to color changes or fading.
Deformation:
High temperature may cause thermal expansion or deformation of BOPP synthetic label paper, thereby affecting its dimensional stability and bonding effect.
Adhesive failure:
High temperature environment may cause the adhesive on the label paper to fail, resulting in label detachment or reduced adhesion.
2、 Problems in low temperature environments
crimp:
Under low temperature conditions, BOPP synthetic label paper may exhibit curling phenomenon. This is because the low temperature slows down the molecular motion inside the material, causing changes in the size of the paper and leading to curling.
Accumulation of static electricity:
Low temperature and dry environments can easily lead to static electricity accumulation, which may interfere with the printing, die-cutting, and bonding processes of labels, and even affect the adhesive effect of labels.
Reduced fluidity of adhesive:
In low temperature environments, the fluidity of the adhesive on the label paper may decrease, resulting in reduced stickiness and making the label prone to warping or falling off.
Increased brittleness:
Under low temperature conditions, the brittleness of BOPP synthetic label paper may increase, leading to easy breakage or damage during processing or use.
In summary, in order to ensure the stability and reliability of BOPP synthetic label paper in various environments, it is recommended to fully consider environmental factors before use and choose suitable label paper materials and adhesive types. At the same time, temperature and humidity should also be controlled during storage and transportation to avoid adverse effects on label paper.
