The production method of die-cutting of self-adhesive labels mainly includes two kinds of manual production and automatic production, which are described as follows:


First, handmade

Hand-made flat die-cutting plate of self-adhesive material is mainly suitable for die-cutting plate with simple graphics and low precision requirements. Its production process generally includes the following steps:


Base plate feeding: Each side of the base plate size is required to be greater than the die tangent line 15~20mm, in order to increase the strength, easy to paste double-sided tape.

Determine die-cut graphics: common methods include drawing method (suitable for simple geometric graphics), film method (paste the positive film with die tangent to the backplate), paper pattern method (computer drawn die tangent paper output and paste to the backplate), proofing method (paste the actual label after proofing to the backplate).

Cutting die cutting bottom plate: drill holes in the figure, let the saw blade cut through the hole to cut the entire figure, keep the saw blade vertical, cutting surface smooth.

Die cutting blade molding: It is completed on special tools, including blade blanking, bending molding, joint sealing, correction and other steps, requiring the interface position of the blade to be consistent, and the bottom surface of the formed blade is flat and not warped.

Die-cutting plate assembly: Install the bottom plate after cutting, the bent blade and the sponge together, requiring the interface of the die-cutting blade to be installed in the same position and located on the side of the label to avoid tearing the label during waste discharge.

Second, automatic production

For die-cutting plates with high precision requirements and complex graphics, automated production is a more common choice. Automated production usually involves advanced die cutting equipment and precise die cutting processes, such as CTP plate making, circular die cutting, etc.


CTP platemaking: By the computer directly through the CTP machine to produce printing PS plate material, compared with the traditional platemaking method, CTP platemaking is faster and more stable, and can improve the publishing efficiency, reduce the graphic transfer of dot amplification.

Circular die cutting: This is a relatively advanced processing technology, the die cutting roller and the die cutting bottom roller are cylindrical, the die cutting knife is installed on the die cutting roller circumference. During die cutting, the roller pillow of the die cutting roller contacts with the surface of the die cutting bottom roller, and rolls pure, cutting the surface material in the middle of the self-adhesive material and die cutting molding. Circular die cutting method has the advantages of high die cutting precision and high processing efficiency.

Iii. Other precautions

Die-cutting quality: The quality of self-adhesive label die-cutting directly affects the subsequent process of label processing, and even eventually leads to poor products. Therefore, in the die-cutting process, it is necessary to ensure that the die-cutting knife can cut through the glue layer but not destroy the silicone oil layer, that is, to achieve "accurate die-cutting".

Influencing factors: die-cutting quality is affected by many factors such as die-cutting method, die-cutting equipment accuracy, die-cutting tools and self-adhesive materials. In addition, the technical level of the operator and the production environment of the workshop will also have an impact on the quality of die cutting.

In summary, the production method of die-cutting of self-adhesive labels includes both traditional manual production and advanced automated production. When choosing a specific production method, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the specific needs and production conditions of the product.
