1、 Initial adhesion test
The initial adhesion force is the force that the indicator label can withstand when it is just attached to the surface of the cable. The commonly used method for testing initial adhesion is the rolling ball method.
Testing instrument: Initial adhesion tester (such as PT-6030 tape initial adhesion tester).
Test steps:
Fix the adhesive side of the cable label upwards on the inclined surface.
Take standard steel balls from the largest size and roll them freely on the sample in sequence.
Record the ball number stuck on the sample for more than 5 seconds as the initial adhesion value of the cable label.
2、 Persistent adhesion test
Persistent adhesion refers to the adhesion that a label can maintain after being attached to the surface of a cable for a long time. The suspension method can be used to test the persistent adhesion.
Testing instrument: Adhesive holding tester (such as PT-6011-5 tape holding force tester).
Test steps:
Stick the cable label onto the designated steel plate.
Use a standard roller to roll the label back and forth at a certain speed and pressure to ensure that it adheres firmly.
Hang the steel plate on the testing machine and add the specified weights.
Record the time when the label falls off the steel plate, or the displacement the label experiences before falling, in order to evaluate its long-lasting adhesion.
3、 Peel strength test
Peel force refers to the force required to peel the label off the surface of the cable. The peel strength can be tested using a peel strength testing machine.
Testing instrument: Peel strength testing machine (such as PT-6086 computer-controlled servo peel strength testing machine).
Test steps:
Stick the cable label onto the cleaned standard steel plate.
Fold the free end of the sample in half 180 degrees and peel off the adhesive surface from the steel plate.
Use a peel strength testing machine to record and calculate the peel strength to evaluate the peel strength of the label.
4、 Other precautions
Testing environment: The testing should be conducted in a standard environment, such as temperature, humidity, etc., which should comply with relevant regulations to ensure the accuracy of the test results.
Test samples: The test samples should be representative and sufficient in quantity to eliminate the influence of accidental errors on the test results.
Testing instruments: Testing instruments should be calibrated and validated to ensure their accuracy and precision.
